It was used after World War II with the aim of creating a stronger version of the League of Nations, which was supposed to stop wars from happening. Most nations are members of the United Nations, and they send people to the headquarters to hold meetings and make decisions on global issues.


The United Nations includes in its membership the independent countries of the world.


The United Nations was established on October 24, 1945 in San Francisco, California.


The main building of the United Nations is located in the city of New York, in the United States of America.


The goal of the United Nations is to leave world peace, and to improve the world's living conditions in general, in order to make the world a better place to live.
