Sinai liberation memorial
December 7, 2021
Sinai Liberation Day is the day on which Egypt recovered the land of Sinai from Israel according to the Camp David treaty and after the last Israeli soldier withdrew from it, and it falls on April 25 of each year. In it, the entire land of Sinai was recovered, except for the city of Taba, which Egypt later recovered on the basis of international arbitration on March 15, 1989, in which the liberation was completed when former Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak raised the Egyptian flag on Taba. Today is an official holiday for official departments and Egyptian government interests.
