Geography

The area of ​​Russia exceeds 17 million square kilometers, which is about one-eighth of the land area, and it is the largest country in the world by area. The Amur River (Russian: река Аму́р) or Heilongjiang River (Chinese: 黑龙江) is the ninth longest river in the world (4,352 km) and drains into the Pacific Ocean and marks the natural border between Russia and China. From the northwest to the southeast Russia shares borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (via Kaliningrad Oblast), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea. It also has maritime borders with Japan from the Sea of ​​Okhotsk, and the US state of Alaska through the Bering Strait. Most of Russia's territory is covered by large areas of plains in the south and dense forests in the north, with tundra along the northern coast. Russia owns 10% of the world's arable land

Politics

According to the constitution of Russia, it is a federal state and a semi-presidential republic system, the president of the republic is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government. The Russian Federation is essentially a multi-party system with a federal government. The Russian capital, as we mentioned, is Moscow, and the official currency is the ruble.

Russia is the ninth country in the world by population, and 81% of the population of Russia is of Russian origin
