He received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University in 1986. In 1998 he became Director of Sales and a member of the Board of Directors of Chevron Corporation. In 2008, I was appointed as Managing Director of Marketing at Chevron Corporation. From March to August 2013, he took over the work of Nayib, the CEO of the Authority for Operations, but he worked as Naib for foreign trade. On August 22, 2013, he assumed the position of CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation. He was sworn in as Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on September 19, 2015 within the government of Sherif Ismail.
