Marsa Matrouh is the capital of the Matrouh Governorate in the northern coast in the far northwest of Egypt and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. In cultivation in the city, it is based on the amount of rain that falls in the winter, which is sufficient to plant a narrow strip parallel to the Mediterranean Sea, and one of the most important things that are planted there are grapes and Fruits, olives and barley. On a railway linking Marsa Matruh with Alexandria (270 km east), and on a highway for cars that also connects it with Alexandria and with the Libyan border in the west, and on a road linking the city with Siwa Oasis and Bahariya. Marsa Matrouh is famous for its beautiful beaches, and now it has become an important resort on the tourist map in Egypt.
