0845 - At the court of Ludvík Němec, King of the East Frankish Empire, fourteen Czech princes embraced Christianity. 1501 - The first book of religious songs in the local language (in Czech) is published. It contains 89 anthems in the Czech language. The title of the songbook is unknown because the only surviving copy is currently missing the first page. [Source?] 1842 - Austrian police arrest a trainee of the Prague Criminal Court, František Ladislav Rieger (24). He was accused of secretly associating with the Polish revolutionary Lukasiewicz. On January 29, he was acquitted and released. 1900 - With the oppression of the non-Germanic population on the territory of Austria-Hungary, Emperor Francis Joseph I proclaims German as the only official language of Austria-Hungary. 1981 - Václav Malý and Bedřich Placák become the spokespersons of Charter 77.

1099 - The Crusaders burn the city of Mari in Syria 1128 - Pope Honorius II. he recognized the Order of the Knights Templar and declared it the Army of God. 1404 - The English Parliament passes the Act of Multipliers, which prohibits alchemists from using their knowledge to produce precious metals.
