Albin Julius, full name Albin Julius Martinek (October 16, 1967 - May 4, 2022) was an Austrian musician. His main music project is called Der Blutharsch. His family comes from Jihlava. Julius founded together with Alzbeth, his then girlfriend, a darkfolk-orchestral group focused on the history of The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath and Cloud. After the group disbanded, he collaborated with Douglas P. of Death In June on the albums Operation Hummingbird and Take Care & Control. He founded the band Der Blutharsch in 1996 and the first act was an eponymous vinyl album, which was published in 250 copies. The band initially devoted itself to industrial, neo-folk ambient and military music, but over the years moved to neopsychedelia and krautrock. Originally a solo project, it has grown by more musicians and over time the name has changed to Der Blutharsch And The Infinite Church Of The Leading Hand. Julius also collaborated with Douglas P. and Boyd Rice on the album Boyd Rice and Friends Wolfpact. Julius released all the music of Der Blutharsch on his own label Wir Kapitulieren Niemals (WKN, German We will never give up). He also founded the label Hau Ruck !, which releases albums by other neo-folk and industrial groups. Thanks to his connection to Olaf Olafsonn and the Big Bad Trip, he often gave concerts in the Czech Republic, both with the band Der Blutharsch and solo.
