Dritan Abazović (Cyrillic Дритан Абазовиж, in the Albanian transcript Dritan Abazoviq; December 25, 1985 Ulcinj) is a Montenegrin politician, from December 4, 2020 to April 28, 2022, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, then elected Prime Minister.

Life and career

He finished primary school and grammar school in Ulcinj. He received a university degree in political science from the University of Sarajevo. Here he won two gold medals for exemplary study. He subsequently completed his studies in international relations. He received his doctorate on the basis of work on globalization there. He has been a member of the Ujedinjena reformska akcija party since April 2017. He is also a member of the 27th Montenegrin Group. In January 2022 he was appointed a member of the Institute for Religious Freedom and Security in Europe (IFFSE). In April 2022 he was appointed a member of the European Council on International Relations (ECFR). Abazovic is of Albanian nationality and Muslim faith. He speaks Serbo-Croatian, Albanian and English.
