Eva Zamrazilová

Eva Zamrazilová (* May 8, 1961 in Prague) is a Czech economist who has chaired the National Budget Council since January 2018. From 2008 to 2014, she was a member of the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank, and since August 2014 she has been the Chief Economist of the Czech Banking Association.

Life

She graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague (thus obtaining the degree of Ing.). Later, she completed her doctoral studies at the Department of Statistics, NF VŠE in Prague (she graduated in 1990 and received the degree of CSc.). Subsequently, she taught the theory of statistics and economic statistics at the University of Economics in Prague, and worked as a researcher at the Institute of Forecasting at the University of Economics in Prague. She also worked at the Institute of Economics of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and at the Research Institute of Labor and Social Affairs. In the 1990s, she participated in a number of studies devoted to the transformation of the Czech economy, and also completed short-term internships abroad. Since 1994, she has worked on macroeconomic analyzes and forecasts in the team of Komerční banka's chief economist. She was a member of the scientific board of the Czech Banking Association and is a member of the board of the Czech Economic Society. She lectures on macroeconomic analysis at the University of Economics and Management, publishes in domestic and foreign professional press. In February 2008, President Václav Klaus appointed her a member of the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank, and took office on March 1, 2008. Since August 2014, she has become the chief economist of the Czech Banking Association. In autumn 2017, the government nominated her to the position of chairwoman of the newly emerging National Budget Council. He took office in January 2018. On June 8, 2022, the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman appointed her Vice Governor of the Czech National Bank and a member of its Bank Board with effect from July 1, 2022. Eva Zamrazilová is married and has three children.

Political action

Eva Zamrazilová is not politically active. In 2014, she ran as a non-partisan in the European Parliament elections (3rd place ODS candidate). However, in the end, after the election gain of 7.67 percent, the ODS party won only two seats, so it did not become a member of the European Parliament.
