Juris Hartmanis

Juris Hartmanis (July 5, 1928, Riga, Latvia – July 29, 2022) was a Latvian-born American computer scientist. He mainly dealt with the theory of computational complexity. He received the Turing Award in 1993 together with Richard Stearns for his work in this area. In a paper he co-authored with Stearns, several time complexity classes (DTIME(f(n))) were introduced.
