London/UK: Four days of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth II's accession to the throne begin with the holding of the Trooping the Color military parade.
Magdeburg/Germany: With a win over HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, SC Magdeburg wins the Handball Bundesliga early, it is the second German championship after 2001.

Berlin/Germany: The Bundestag decides on a special fund for the Bundeswehr with a volume of 100 billion euros and the previously necessary amendment to the Basic Law.
Burgrain/Germany: In the train accident in Burgrain, all five double-decker coaches on a regional train derailed on the Munich-Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway line. Several people die as a result.
Tallinn/Estonia: The country's government under Prime Minister Kaja Kallas collapses.
