Düsseldorf/Germany: Constitutive session of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia after the election on May 15th. André Kuper is re-elected President of the Landtag. Fairfax / United States: The verdict is reached in the court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. London/United Kingdom: At Wembley Stadium, the winner of the South American Copa America 2021 Argentina wins the Finalissima against the European soccer champion 2021 Italy 3-0. Netanya/Israel: France wins the U-17 European Football Championship with a win over the Netherlands. Tulsa/United States: An assassin breaks into a hospital and shoots four people dead. (see talk page) Copenhagen/Denmark: In a referendum, the vast majority of Danes support the abolition of the EU defense proviso in the Maastricht Treaty and future participation in the Common Security and Defense Policy.

London/UK: Four days of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth II's accession to the throne begin with the holding of the Trooping the Color military parade. Magdeburg/Germany: With a win over HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, SC Magdeburg wins the Handball Bundesliga early, it is the second German championship after 2001.

Berlin/Germany: The Bundestag decides on a special fund for the Bundeswehr with a volume of 100 billion euros and the previously necessary amendment to the Basic Law. Burgrain/Germany: In the train accident in Burgrain, all five double-decker coaches on a regional train derailed on the Munich-Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway line. Several people die as a result. Tallinn/Estonia: The country's government under Prime Minister Kaja Kallas collapses.

Argelès-sur-Mer/France: Carles Puigdemont resigns as Chair of the Junts per Catalunya, succeeded by Laura Borràs, President of the Parliament of Catalonia. Amstetten/Austria: SKN St. Pölten wins the Austrian Women's Soccer Cup by beating SK Sturm Graz. Krems/Austria: In the final series for the Austrian men's handball championship, UHK Krems beat Alpla HC Hard. Tirana/Albania: The parliament elects Bajram Begaj as the new president. (see talk page) Sitakunda/Bangladesh: A fire breaks out in a container warehouse, and several dozen people are killed in a subsequent explosion.
