Sanna Mirella Marin (born November 16, 1985 in Helsinki) is a Finnish politician. In 2004, Marin graduated from Pirkkalan yhteislukio, a high school. In 2017 she graduated with a Masters in Administration from the University of Tampere. Political Positions

On May 12, 2022, 11 weeks after Russian forces began their invasion of Ukraine on the orders of President Putin, Finnish President Niinistö and Prime Minister Marin issued a joint statement supporting Finland's immediate accession to NATO. On May 14, 2022, the Social Democratic Party of Finland also endorsed the accession. This means that accession has a broad parliamentary majority.

Marin was born in Helsinki and grew up in a rainbow family with her mother and her partner. She lived in Espoo and Pirkkala before moving to Tampere for her studies. On August 1, 2020, she married Markus Räikkönen, a former Finnish second division football player. The couple had already lived together for 16 years and have a daughter who was born in 2018.
