Mansfield is a city in the County of Nottinghamshire, England. It is the largest city in the county, it has a population of 66,885 inhabitants.[1] Situated on the Maun River. It is the principal town in the local government District of Mansfield. The city is surrounded by a pocket of hills in the Maun Valley.

Economy

Mansfield has a large market square and around the market a large shopping center includes a museum, the Palace Theater and numerous pubs, bars and nightclubs. It also has a new internal market that is nearing completion. Mansfield was originally the home of Mansfield Brewery, one of the largest independent brewers in the UK. The brewery was purchased by the Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries for £253 million in October 1999.

Sport

This city has a football team called Mansfield Town F.C. who plays in the English Football League Two of England Soccer. This team plays at home at Field Mill Stadium.
