Thai, Thai or Siamese (Thai: ภาษา ไทย) is the national and official language of Thailand and the mother tongue of the Thai people is the dominant ethnic group in Thailand. Thai is a member of the Thai language group of the Kra-Dai family of languages. The Kra-Dai family of languages seems to have originated in southern China, and some linguists have linked it to the Stro-Asian, Strangian, or Sino-Tibetan language families. The language is phonetic and uses intransitive words to denote syntactic relationships. The combination of melodies, complex calligraphy, syntactic cues, and phonetic markers can make it difficult for those who do not speak related languages to learn Thai.

Speakers

Thai is spoken in Thailand and northern Malaysia and is estimated to have a total of 60 to 65 million speakers.

The Thai alphabet is derived from the Khmer alphabet, modeled on the Brahmanical script of the Indian family. Its language and alphabet are closely related to Lao (Lao). This line contains 44 consonants, of which the other 2 consonants are not applicable. Of these, 6 consonants are not used at the beginning of a word. The amazing feature of the Thai line is the separation of the words of a sentence from each other, which greatly increases the difficulty of reading this line.

Difficulties

Like many Asian languages, especially Khmer, one of the major difficulties is the use of polite phrases that are exactly appropriate to the situation: the age, gender, social role of the audience, and the degree of respect for them make changes in pronouns and sometimes vocabulary. It is especially important to pay attention to the distinction between the big and the small. Another problem with learning Thai is that it is a phonetic language and the meanings of words change with the tone of voice. Thai uses five different tones: Low Tone, Mid Tone, High Tone, Falling Tone, and Rising Tone.
