A philosopher is someone who is the designer of an independent philosophical school or at least the designer of an independent philosophical theory.

Background

Pythagoras was the first to call himself a philosopher (Greek: φιλόσοφος, philosophos) or a philosopher (Middle Persian: فلسهس دان, filāsōfā). Instead of calling himself a wise man (sophos), he called himself a philo (lover) of sophos (wisdom); Because putting the name of a wise man on himself is considered a sign of arrogance.

Definition

The word "philosophy" (philosophical wisdom) is an educated form ( Arabicized) of the word "philosophyia" (Greek: φιλοσοφία), which in Greek means "wisdom" or "friendliness" because the word "philos" means to love and the word "sophia" means knowledge. But the word, in its specific sense, refers to the knowledge that discusses the state of "being" in the sense in which it exists. "It's because of their causes and principles."
