The Princess of Asturias Prize (Spanish: Premios Princesa de Asturias) is an annual award given in Spain by the Princess of Asturias Foundation to the winners of various fields. The prizes were first awarded in 1981, when there were six prize series. Since then, there have been two more series.source? The award itself is a source of sculpture designed by Joan Miró? After Felipe became king, the award and the foundation were renamed after a new female heir to the crown, Leonor, in October 2014.
