Dmitry Andreevich Muratov (Russian: Дмитрий Андреевич Муратов; born October 30, 1961 in Samara, Russia) is the editor-in-chief of the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta. Four or five of the employees of the opposition newspaper Novaya Gazeta have been murdered, the most famous of them being Anna Politkovskaya. In June 2009, Dmitry Muratov received the International Press Institute, or IPI, Freedom of Expression Award in Helsinki. In 2021, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with Maria Ressa. Sources
