President of India

The President of India is the Head of State of India and the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces. According to Article 53 of the Constitution of India, the president has executive and executive powers in federal affairs and can exercise them directly or delegate them to authorities acting under his supervision. However, with a few exceptions, governmental and executive power in India is exercised in practice by the federal government, headed by the Prime Minister.
