Juhan Aare (February 20, 1948 in Tallinn - October 6, 2021) was an Estonian journalist and politician. The civic movement gave rise to the association Eesti Roheline Liikumine (Estonian Green Movement), which later developed into the Estonian Green Party. Aare served as the first Chairman of the Board of ERL. In 1992–99, Aare served as a Member of Parliament in the Riigikogu, and in 2002–05 he was the chairman of Vihula Municipal Council. In addition to his journalistic and political work, Aare also made documentaries and wrote books. He practiced show jumping and was the chairman of the Estonian Riding Association from 1993-98. Treasure had three children. Aare's father was Professor Johannes Aare and brother musician Tõnu Aare. Sources
