International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is the anniversary of the United Nations (UN) Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The anniversary has been celebrated since November 25, 1999. It is celebrated in 1960 on the day of the death of the Mirabal siblings murdered in the Dominican Republic.
