The 1960 Summer Olympics were held in Rome, Italy. The opening ceremony of the Games was on August 25 and the closing ceremony on September 11, 1960.

Selection Process

The venue for the Games was decided in Paris, France on June 15, 1955. At the same time, the venue for the 1960 Winter Olympics was also decided.
