The Finnish Species Information Center is the Finnish node of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility. It operates in connection with the Central Museum of Natural History, Luomus. Its main tasks are: collection, sharing and archiving of observational data promoting open knowledge and science and civics The maintenance of the national species list's website is located at Laji.fi. There is also a Nationwide Observation Management System - a Booklet that replaced Hatika.
