Clayton Ruby, LL.M, LL.B, BA (February 6, 1942 – August 2, 2022) was a Canadian lawyer specializing in constitutional criminal law and human rights. He is one of the most famous lawyers in Canada today, and has served as defense attorney for a few famous cases. Ruby received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from York University in 1963. He received a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Toronto in 1969 and was called to the bar in 1969. In 1973 , he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of California at Berkeley. Since 1973, he has been a partner in the law firm Ruby and Edwardh in Toronto, Ontario.
