Corporal Izzy Schwartz, whose real name is Isadore Schwartz, was an American boxer born October 23, 1900 in New York and died July 8, 1988.

Career

He won the vacant NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission) flyweight title on December 16, 1927 by beating Newsboy Brown on points at Madison Square Garden. Schwartz retained his title 5 times against Routier Parra, Frisco Grande, Little Jeff Smith, Grande a second time and Frenchy Belanger before leaving it vacant in November 1929 after a loss without an in-game title against Eugène Huat. He ended his boxing career in 1932 with a record of 64 wins, 32 losses and 12 draws.
