The Santa Claus Parade is an annual parade celebrating the approach of Christmas with the arrival of Santa Claus. Often the parade includes dancing groups and musicians playing Christmas carols.

In North America

Santa Claus parades are numerous in North America. One of the oldest is that of Toronto. The premiere took place on December 2, 1905. Sponsored by Eaton, the event only featured Santa Claus. It has since grown to 25 vehicles, 24 musical groups and 1,700 participants. It is televised by Global Television Network. In Montreal, the parade has been taking place on Sainte-Catherine Street since 1995, taking up a tradition initiated by Eaton in 1925, abandoned in 1969. Special fact: the presence of the Star Fairy personified by: Ima (2010, 2011), Marie -May (2012), Joannie Rochette (2013, 2014), Marie-Ève ​​Janvier (2015, 2016), Vanessa Pilon (2017, 2018, 2019).
