Uffe Ellemann-Jensen
Uffe Ellemann-Jensen (/ˈufə ɛləmæn ˈjɛnsn̩/, informal: /ˈufə ˈɛləˌmænˀ/), born November 1, 1941 in Haarby (Denmark) and died June 18, 2022 in Copenhagen (Denmark), was a Danish politician.
He was Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1982 and 1993 and president of the Venstre party between 1984 and 1998.
Biography
Uffe Ellemann-Jensen served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the conservative governments of Poul Schlüter from 1982 to 1993. He was leader of the Danish liberal political party Venstre from 1984 to 1998 and chairman of the European Liberals from 1995 to 2000. Since 1998, Ellemann-Jensen is President of the Baltic Development Forum, a network of non-profit organizations dedicated to business development in the Baltic Sea region. He is a non-executive director of numerous offices of international companies.
Also administrator of the think tank Les Amis de l'Europe and the International Crisis Group since 2000, he participated in 1996, 1997 and 1998 in the annual conference of the Bilderberg group [ref. necessary].
