The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the XXXII. the summer olympics was a multi-sport international sporting event planned for 2020 but held in 2021 in tokyo, the capital of japan. Officially, the 32nd Modern Olympics, as under the numbering, the missed Olympic Games are also considered to be held. In fact, if we do not include the arrears, only Article 29. On March 24, 2020, it was announced that the Olympic Games would be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic, expected by one year. The name of the event has not changed. The application process By the 15 February 2012 deadline, five cities had officially submitted their applications to host the Olympics. The IOC nominated the official candidates on 23 May 2012, with the decision that Istanbul, Madrid and Tokyo will compete for the right to host the Olympics. The IOC decided on September 7, 2013 in Buenos Aires on the venue of the Games.

Important dates

The main dates for the selection of the host country were adopted by the IOC Executive Board as follows: 2011: 16 May - The IOC sent a letter of invitation to the National Olympic Committees. July-August - The IOC asked the National Committees to confirm their country's commitment to the WADA (International Anti-Doping Agency) Code by letter by 29 July. So far, it has been possible to ask if a country wants to hold the games outside the time forecast by the IOC (July 15 - August 31). The IOC responded to such requests by the end of August. September 1 - Deadline for official application for the 2020 Summer Olympics. 2 September - The IOC confirms receipt of applications from six countries. November 3-4 - The IOC held an information seminar for applicants. 2012: 15 February - Deadline for submission of application materials and letters of guarantee. May 23 - The IOC Executive Board meets in Quebec to decide which cities will become official candidate cities based on their applications. July 27 - August 12 - Olympic Games Observer Program at the London Olympics. November - Summary of the London Olympics results in Rio de Janeiro.2013: January 7 - Deadline for submission of official application books. The IOC selected the host city on September 7, 2013. Of the three candidates, Tokyo received the most votes in the first round. Istanbul and Madrid received the same number of votes, so there was a new vote in which Istanbul won 49-45, so Madrid was eliminated. In the second round, Tokyo received more votes and won the right to settle. Applications By the deadline of 15 February 2012, 5 cities had submitted their applications.
