2022–23 UEFA Nations League (League A)

The 2022–2023 UEFA Nations League A is the top division of the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League. The winner of the Nations League will emerge from the A league, the final will be played in June 2023.


1-16 of the 2022-2023 UEFA Nations League qualifying rankings in League A. placers will participate, divided into four groups. In the groups, the teams will play a total of six matches, and they will face each other in a round-robin round-robin system in June and September 2022. The group winners advance to the UEFA Nations League Final Four, with the fourth-placed teams relegated to the 2024-2025 UEFA Nations League League B. The UEFA Nations League Final Four will be held in June 2023 in a straight-elimination format featuring two semi-finals, a bronze medal match and a final. The pairing of the semifinals, as well as the bronze match and the field selection teams for the final, will be decided by lot. The venue is chosen from among the four advancing teams. The winner of the final wins the UEFA Nations League. The four group winners will be drawn into a five-team group during the 2024 European Football Championship qualifiers.



Changes after the 2020-2021 announcement:


The promotion was made according to the 2022–2023 UEFA Nations League promotion ranking based on the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League overall ranking. The highlight was published on September 22, 2021. The draw for the groups was held on December 16, 2021 at 18:00 CET in Nyon. One team from each hat was placed in each group.

League A's 16 teams are UEFA Nations League 1–16. will receive its rankings, based on the following rules: The winners of the groups are 1-4. places, based on the results of the straight knockout stages of the Nations League. The runners-up of the groups are 5-8. were given positions, based on their results in the group. The third places in the groups are 9-12. were given positions, based on their results in the group. The fourth places in the groups are the 13-16. were given positions, based on their results in the group.
