Dániel Gazdag (Nyíregyháza, March 2, 1996 –) is a Hungarian national football player, a midfielder for the Philadelphia Union.

In club teams

Budapest Defense Force

Gazdag, who grew up in the Budapest Honvéd reserve team, made his debut in the Hungarian top flight in the 2014-2015 season. In his first season, he got the opportunity to play in twelve league meetings. In June 2015, he extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2019. In the following period, he became a regular member of the Kispet team led by Marco Rossi, with whom he won the league title in the 2016-17 season. The midfielder's performance attracted the attention of several clubs, Videoton would have signed him in the winter of 2016, and Rossi said that Gazdag would also be able to take his place in the Italian top flight. In the seasons that followed, he was also a regular player for the Honvéd, introduced himself on the international cup circuit, and received an invitation to the Hungarian national team. He was named the best young player in the 2017–18 season at the Professional Footballers' Association awards. In the summer of 2019, he extended his contract with the club for another three years. He attracted attention several times with his spectacular goals; in the 11th round of the 2019-2020 championship, he scored a spectacular goal in the meeting against Puskás Akadémia, then in the beginning of the championship, during the 4-2 domestic victory against Kaposvár, he scored from 20 meters into the goal of the visiting team. He almost copied the latter's goal in the next championship, during a 4-2 home win against DVTK. 2021. on April 3, in the league match against Újpest, which ended 2–2, he scored 2 goals within 46 seconds.

Philadelphia Union

After the 2020-2021 season, he transferred to the Philadelphia Union team in the North American League (MLS). According to press reports, the American club paid more than HUF 500 million, one and a half million euros, for the right to play, while the management of the Honvéd admitted in the official press statement that Gazdag became the second most expensive footballer in the club's history after Lajos Détári. He was chosen at the RangAdó award ceremony held in May 2021. the best player of the 2020-2021 season in NB I, and his goal against DVTK was voted the best goal of the season by the fans. He made his MLS debut on May 23, 2021, coming on as a substitute in the 67th minute the D.C. 1–0 win against United in the league.
