In the club team

From 1959 to 1963 he was a footballer for Ajax, from 1963 to 1965 for Feyenoord, and again between 1965 and 1969 he was an Ajax footballer. In the 1959-60 and 1960-61 seasons, he became king of the league goals. He achieved four league titles and two Dutch cup victories with his Ajax team. He was a member of the 1968-69 BEK Final Ensemble. He won a championship and a Dutch cup victory with Feyenord.

In the national team

Between 1960 and 1969, he made 39 appearances for the Dutch national team and scored 12 goals.
