A periodical publication (periodical) is a publication designed for an unspecified period of time, which consists of successive sub-units (issues, booklets, volumes, years, etc.); these are usually distinguished from each other by their numbering, dating, chronological or other markings.

other periodical publications (reports, reports, announcements, collections of studies, anthologies, etc.),
series Supplements and special issues that have their own permanent title, usually their own authorship data and independent numbering data should be considered independent periodical publications.
The international identification number of periodicals is the ISSN number.
