Imola (first name)
The female name Imola is another name from the name of the plant genus. The old Hungarian word imola means swamp. It was first used as a female name by Mór Jókai in his novel The Idol Castle.
It is a very rare name in the 1990s and not among the top 100 female names in the 2000s.
