In 1902, aged 22, Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud returned to Riyadh, the ancestral capital of the Al-Saud dynasty, from rivals of the Al-Rashid family. Abdul Aziz conquered Al-Hasa, Al-Qatif, from Najd, and the Hejaz respectively between 1913 and 1926. On January 8, 1926 Abdul Aziz bin Saud became King of the Hejaz.
