The Washington Post is the largest and oldest newspaper – founded in 1877 – in Washington, D.C., United States. One of the most famous events in the daily history took place in the early 1970s when journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein began a media investigation into Watergate. This played an important role in the resignation of Richard Nixon from the presidency.
