Dynamic adventure

A dynamic adventure (or arcade adventure) is a type of video game that combines elements of the adventure genre and the action genre. They are in fact also called action / adventure video games (or action-adventure in English). The genre is very varied and widespread since the 80s.

Typically: pure adventures have a complex plot and place the player in situations to be solved by reasoning alone, without rapidity of movement. If there is even action, it is usually limited to only isolated episodes. action games are based on real-time interactions and require quick reflexes. dynamic adventures involve both reasoning and reflexes, in both violent and peaceful situations, so while reflex-based actions are required (often involving combat or avoiding other dangers), the gameplay follows adventures' canons: collection of objects, exploration and interaction with the environment, dialogues with the characters, solving puzzles. The game controls are arcade-type (direct movement of the character with a few quick commands), but there are complex objectives to be achieved, and not just the simple accumulation of points. Often even in graphic adventures you control a character who can move directly, but in that case the skill and speed in the movements are not necessary as in dynamic adventures. The type of view varies greatly: it can be panoramic, in first person ( as in a FPS), third-person, scrolling, or even isometric.
