Matt Elliott, also known as The Third Eye Foundation (Bristol, March 10, 1974), is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist.
Biography
During the 1990s Elliott began recording with Linda's Strange Vacation, which included Kate Wright and Rachel Brook. Elliott also occasionally played in Wright and Brook's Movietone, and in Brook and Dave Pierce's Flying Saucer Attack. The first album recorded by Elliott using the pseudonym Third Eye Foundation is Semtex, released in 1996 by the private label Linda's Strange Vacation also thanks to the help of the newborn Domino Recording Company. The following Ghost (1997), You Guys Kill Me (1998) and Little Lost Soul (2000) came out on Domino instead. In 2003 Elliott's first album The Mess We Made was released, stylistically different from previous records. Later Drinking Songs (2005), where Elliott's music approaches that of Tindersticks and The Black Heart Procession, Failing Songs (2006), and Howling Songs (2008) were released for the French label Ici, d'ailleurs. .. and constitute a trilogy. In 2009 Elliott took part as a support musician on a tour of Yann Tiersen.
Throughout his career, Elliott has remixed Amp, Hood, Yann Tiersen, Mogwai, Ulver, Tarwater, Pastels, Navigator, Urchin, Suncoil Sect, Remote Viewer, Thurston Moore and others, many of which are collected in his anthologies. .
