Muikamachi Station is a station of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and Hokuetsu Express, located in Muikamachi, Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture.

Boarding route

The Joetsu Line of JR East and the Hokuhoku Line of Hokuetsu Express are on board. The Hokuhoku Line starts from this station, but it operates directly to Echigo Yuzawa Station via the Joetsu Line.

History

1923 (Taisho 12) November 18: Joetsu Kita Line (currently Joetsu Line) Urasa-Opened as a general station when the Shiozawa section opens. December 18: The current station building is completed. March 22, 1997: The Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line opens. 2009 (Heisei 21) March 14: Due to the introduction of CTC on the Joetsu Line, the placement of operating personnel will be abolished. March 31: Due to outsourcing, the stationmaster position will be abolished on this day. April 1: JNB JR Niigata Business accepts station operations from this day (outsourcing). Station structure

It is a ground station with a single platform on one side and one line and an island platform on two sides and four lines, and has a Hashigami station building. It is a business consignment station managed by Echigo Yuzawa Station, and JR Niigata Business (JNB) is outsourced to the station business. Although it is a shared station of the two companies, JR East is fully entrusted with the station operations of Hokuetsu Express. The free passage "Muikamachi Station Free Passage" is managed by Minami Uonuma City, and the station building is located on the second floor facing the free passage. The city established and operated the "Muikamachi Station Free Passage / Symbol Space Ordinance" in 1998 (Heisei 10) during the former Muikamachi era before the merger, with the aim of fostering the moisture of citizens and station users.
