Gifu City Library is a general term for public libraries in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture.

Overview

The Central Library was relocated and opened in July 2015 on the site of the Gifu University Hospital in Tsukasamachi, Gifu City. In addition, there is a branch library (1 building) and each library (5 rooms) in Nagara, East, West, Nagamori, and Yanaizu. The old main building, which closed on March 29, 2015, has a collection of about 210,000 books, and the total number of books including the annex and library is about 540,000 (as of the end of March 2014). Since the annex directly connected to Gifu Station is used by commuters and students, the number of users and the number of books lent out was three times that of the old main building, although the number of books was less than half that of the old main building.
