Purpose of Wikipedia

Our aim is to create a free, web-based, content encyclopedia of all fields of knowledge in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration. The goal of the Wikipedia article is to create a comprehensive and neutral summary of existing mainstream knowledge on the subject. Editors are encouraged to edit boldly. Five Principles is a popular summary of the most relevant Wikipedia principles.

Getting Started

As a new participant, you may feel a bit overwhelmed by the scale and scope of this project, Wikipedia. Even if you don't understand everything at first, don't worry too much if you use common sense to edit. Not only does Wikipedia allow you to create, edit and edit articles, but it also wants you to edit articles. You just have to remember that you can't break Wikipedia, there are many rules, but perfection is not necessary as Wikipedia is constantly evolving. Editorial collaboration allows an incomplete or poorly written first draft to evolve into a great document over time.

Introduction and tutorial

How-to and information pages are provided to achieve your goals. In addition to this page, there are other introductions (tutorials) about the project. The Wikipedia Tutorials (Basic) are step-by-step instructions explaining all the introductions to this place and how to contribute. Wikipedia Grand Adventures is an interactive guided adventure with 7 comprehensive missions, covering all the essentials regarding the expectations and norms of the Wikipedia community.

Create an account

You do not need to log in to read Wikipedia. You don't even need to log in to edit Wikipedia articles. Anyone can edit almost any document at any time without logging in. However, creating an account is free and has several advantages (eg, being able to create documents, uploading files, or editing your IP address without making it publicly visible). To create an account in seconds, click Create Account and fill out the required form. This process will be recorded and you will be provided with a link back to this page after your account is created.

Community Rules

Policies and Guidelines: Wikipedia: Courtesy and Wikipedia: Points to follow in discussions Help articles: Wikipedia: Introduction to policies and guidelines and Wikipedia: Simplified set of rules Wikipedia doesn't follow strict rules, so you don't need to read the article before editing. However, some standards and behavioral expectations may apply. General social norms should be followed by all Wikipedia editors. The Wikipedia community is made up of people from different countries and cultures, sometimes with widely different perspectives, perspectives, opinions and backgrounds. Editors must treat each other respectfully, work together, and avoid behavior that is considered unacceptable, destructive, extreme or dishonest. Policies, guidelines, and formatting have been developed by the community to explain best practices, clarify principles, resolve conflicts, and achieve other goals.
