Purpose of Wikipedia
Our purpose is to create a free, web-based, content encyclopedia of all fields of knowledge in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. The goal of a Wikipedia article is to create a comprehensive and neutral summary of existing mainstream knowledge on a subject. Editors are encouraged to edit boldly. The Five Principles is a popular summary of the most pertinent Wikipedia principles.
As a new contributor, you may feel a bit overwhelmed by the scale and scope of this project, Wikipedia. Don't worry too much if you don't understand everything at first, as long as you use common sense when editing. Wikipedia not only allows you to create, revise and edit articles, but also wants you to edit them. You just need to remember that you can't break Wikipedia, there are many rules, but perfection is not necessary because Wikipedia is constantly evolving. Through editorial collaboration, an incomplete or poorly written first draft can evolve over time into a superior document.
Introduction and Tutorial
How-to and information pages are provided to help you achieve your goals. In addition to this page, there are other introductions (guides) to the project. The Wikipedia Guide (Basic) is a step-by-step guide that explains everything about this place and how to contribute. The Wikipedia Adventure is an interactive guided adventure with seven comprehensive missions covering all the essentials about the expectations and norms of the Wikipedia community.
Create an account
You do not need to log in to read Wikipedia. You don't even have to log in to edit Wikipedia articles. Anyone can edit almost any document at any time without logging in. However, creating an account is free and has several advantages (eg you can create documents, upload files, edit your IP address without making it visible to the public). To create an account in seconds, click Create Account and fill out the required form. This process will be recorded and a link will be provided to return to this page once the account has been created.
Policies and Guidelines: Wikipedia:Courtesy and Wikipedia:Discussion Points
Help articles: Wikipedia:Introduction to Policies and Guidelines and Wikipedia:Simplified set of rules Wikipedia does not follow strict rules, so you don't need to read the articles before editing. However, some standards and behavioral expectations may apply. General social norms must be followed by all Wikipedia editors. The Wikipedia community is made up of people from many countries and cultures, sometimes with vastly different perspectives, perspectives, opinions and backgrounds. Editors are expected to treat each other with respect and work together, avoiding behavior that would be considered unacceptable, destructive, extreme or dishonest.
Policies, guidelines, and formatting are developed by the community to describe best practices, clarify principles, resolve conflicts, and achieve other goals. Rules are principles, not laws in Wikipedia. various
