The plane is forced to land in Sicily and the hijackers are arrested. 1986 – An earthquake in San Salvador kills 500 people. 2010 - Belgium and France agree to split up and partially nationalize Dexia, a Belgian bank. 2013 - The European Parliament awards the Sakharov Prize to Pakistani children's rights activist Malala Yousafzai. 2015 - Two suicide bombers blow themselves up in central Ankara; there are at least 106 dead and 186 injured.
