French parliamentary elections 2022

July 5, 2022

The two rounds of the 2022 French parliamentary elections took place on Sunday, June 12, 2022, the first ballot, and Sunday, June 19, 2022, the second ballot. The 577 representatives in the Assemblée nationale were elected to the 16th Legislature of the Fifth Republic during these legislative elections. Parliamentary elections in France have been a few weeks after the presidential elections since the beginning of the 21st century. Emmanuel Macron was re-elected for a second term in the 2022 presidential election. His party Ensemble, wholly Ensemble pour la majorité présidettielle, remained the largest party in parliament, but did not retain a majority.
