The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (Swedish: Nobelpriset i physiologi eller medicin) is a prize awarded annually since 1901 to someone who has made the world a better place through a discovery, invention or act in the field of physiology or medicine. This was one of the five awards Alfred Nobel included in his will. The prize is awarded annually by the Karolinska Institute.
