William Fenton "Bill" Russell (February 12, 1934 – July 31, 2022) was an American basketball player.
Russell played his entire career with the Boston Celtics, and was one of the most central players in the Celtics' incredible dominance in the NBA in the 60s. Russell was a 206 cm tall centre, and was best known for his incredible defensive qualities. He is considered a pioneer in blocking. He is considered today as one of the best basketball players ever.

11 NBA championships: 1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, all with the Boston Celtics; the last two as a playing coach.
