International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) - a unique identifier for standardized identification objects, entities, authors of works, works and publications. The ISNI identifier has been used and developed since 2012 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the form of a draft international standard ISO 27729, the standard was published on May 15, 2012. The development and updating of the standard is the responsibility of the technical committee 46, subcommittee 9 (TC 46 / SC 9) ISO standards.
