Amy Christine Dumas (born April 14, 1975 in Fort Lauderdale) - American professional wrestler and vocalist of the band The Luchagors better known under her ring pseudonym as Lita.

Training sessions and independent organizations

Dumas is his idol and his main inspiration is the Mexican luchador Rey Mysterio Jr .. Dumas went to Mexico in 1998 to train wrestling. She financed this trip and training by dancing in the club under the pseudonym Misty. During her stay in Mexico, Amy trained under the watchful eye of many famous wrestlers, including Dave Sierra, Kevin Quinn, Miguel Perez and Ricky Santana. Before returning to the United States, she performed several times with Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre and several other Mexican wrestling organizations. After returning to the United States, she began performing under the pseudonym Angelica in independent organizations such as Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) and NWA Mid-Atlantic, where she met Jeff and Matt Hardy. She was also the manager of Christopher Daniels.

Extreme Championship Wrestling

In 1999, she caught the attention of Paul Heyman, who recruited her to join Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), where she performed under the pseudonym Miss Congeniality. Not only was she manager of Danny Doring and Roadkill's wrestlers, she also fought alongside them in mixed match duels. Rob Van Dam introduced Congeniality to Dory Funk Jr., who accepted her into his wrestling school, The Funkin 'Conservatory. Apart from her, there were 23 men in the group of students. Congeniality graduated from this school in August 1999, after which she returned to the ECW. Meanwhile, Funk and his wife recorded footage of Congeniality, which they later sent to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The recording made an impression on the federation and on November 1 of the same year Congeniality signed a contract with the WWF. Dumas made her last appearance at ECW on October 23, 1999.

World Wrestling Federation / Entertainment

Debut with Essa Rios and Team Xtreme (1999-2000)

She made her debut in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as Lita. She was assigned to the Memphis Championship Wrestling development territory. It was soon transferred to the main roster and merged with the luchador Essa Rios. Lita and Rios first performed together on February 13, 2000 at Sunday Night HEAT, where Rios defeated Gillberg to win the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. They then started competing against Eddie Guerrero and Chyna. The competition led to Guerrero winning the European Championship duel at the Backlash gala. On May 25, 2000, Rios fought against Matt Hardy. During the duel, he used Lita as a human shield, and after the fight, he unloaded his anger on her and attacked with a powerbomb maneuver. Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff Hardy stood up for her and took her to their team, The Hardy Boyz, which was soon renamed Team Xtreme. In the summer of 2000, Team Xtreme entered the competition against Test, Albert and Trish Stratus. The dispute ended with a team fight on July 23 at Fully Loaded, which was won by Team Xtreme thanks to Lita's Stratus pinning. Soon after, Lita began competing with WWF Women's champion Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. On the August 21, 2000 episode of Raw, Lita defeated McMahon to claim the championship. The Rock was the special judge. Triple H and Kurt Angle tried to intervene in the start. On November 2, she lost the 4-way Fatal Championship won by Ivory. Team Xtreme then competed against Dean Malenko who was interested in Lita. On February 19, Lita personally defeated Malenko in a 1v1 fight, ending their feud for good. After the fight, Matt Hardy kissed Lita, introducing their true romance into the WWF plot. Together, they repeatedly fought in mix duels
