The 2022 Ecuadorian demonstrations, also known as the 2022 National Strike in Ecuador (Spanish: Paro Nacional en Ecuador de 2022), are a wave of nationwide mobilizations that took place from June 13, 2022, convened by various organizations. social networks, mainly by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie), in opposition to the policies of the government of Guillermo Lasso. The mobilizations took place after the first year of the Lasso government, a period in which the prices of fuel and the basic family food basket increased considerably; in addition to the intensification of the security crisis that has been plaguing the country since the government of Lenín Moreno. Likewise, shortages and ineffectiveness of the public health system stand out. On June 18, the president declared a state of exception in three provinces of the country.
