Marcelo de Carvalho Miranda
Marcelo de Carvalho Miranda GOMM (Goiânia, October 10, 1961) is a Brazilian agriculturalist and politician affiliated with the Brazilian Democratic Movement (1980). In 2018, he had his term as governor of the state of Tocantins revoked, a position he held for the third time. He is married to federal deputy Dulce Miranda (MDB), with whom he has two children. in 2009. Born in Goiânia, Marcelo de Carvalho Miranda is an agriculturalist. Son of Marly de Carvalho and José Edmar Brito Miranda, he is married to federal deputy Dulce Miranda (PMDB) with whom he has two children: Marcella and Guilherme. His connection with politics began in the state of Goiás, advising his father, then state deputy Brito Miranda, representative of the region of the former north of Goiás, today Tocantins, in the Legislative Assembly of that state.
He was elected state deputy for the first time in 1990, being re-elected in 1994 and 1998. For two consecutive times he presided over the Legislative Assembly of Tocantins. In that period, he was part of the National Union of State Legislatures (Unale), when he articulated the creation of the Amazonian Parliament, of which he was president from 2001 to 2002. of valid votes and took office from 2003 to 2006.
