For example, as you read this, Wikipedia and its sister projects develop an average of 10 edits per second across the planet. At the moment, Wikipedia in Portuguese has 1 075 673 valid articles, that is, pages from the main domain that have at least one internal link and that are not redirects. There is a special page, Special:Statistics, where important data generated automatically can be consulted.

About users

When analyzing the data below, take into account that a user can belong to more than one group (for example, there are bureaucrats who are also administrators).

Wikipedians by number of edits

Total counts of Wikipedians by number of edits can be found in the WikiScan tool. This classification in past situations can be accessed in the history of the listings recorded right here on Wikipedia. These were lists that included editors who had reached a minimum of two thousand issues. In this case, due to the nature of Wikimedia's records and servers, in addition to manual editing, the numbers presented there may contain inaccuracies. It should be noted that this type of listing is not a competition and should not be interpreted as such. It is for informational purposes only. Only the count of edits is considered and not their quality. However, historically, it is possible to see an almost total adherence among Wikipedians with the greatest number of editions and a great commitment to the project, although it is not the only way, nor the only welcome or accepted, to contribute to Wikipedia. In fact, editing count is a phenomenon close to the inferiority complex that affects many Wikipedians.
