Islamism (Arabic الإسلام السياسي - political Islam) is a religious and political ideology and practical activity aimed at creating conditions under which any contradictions within society and the state where there is a Muslim population, as well as interstate relations with their participation will be resolved on the basis of sharia law. Modifications of Islamism of varying degrees of radicalism are the ideology of such parties as the Muslim Brotherhood, En-Nahda in Tunisia, the Freedom and Justice Party and Al Noor in Egypt, the Justice and Welfare Party in Indonesia, the Justice and Development Party (Morocco) , Islah in Yemen, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan, Union of Builders of Islamic Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Palestine, National Congress of Sudan, Islamic Liberation Front Moros, the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Iraq and Syria, the Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines, and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
