The province of Friesland (Dutch. Provincie Friesland, West Frisian Provinsje Fryslân) includes 18 communities. The province covers an area of ​​5749 km² and has a population of 651,435 inhabitants (2021). The provincial capital is Leeuwarden. The largest community in Friesland is South-West Friesland (907.87 km²), and the smallest is Dantumadel (87.53 km²).
